Eucalyptus Citriodora  is a colorless to pale-yellow essential oil that is steam-distilled from the twigs and leaves of the plant. Possessed of a strong, very fresh, rosy-cintronella-like odor, the oil has an extraordinarily high native content of cintronellal. Tested nontoxic, and has been used to treat a wide range of maladies, including hypertension, asthma, rheumatism, even dandruff. 

As one might expect, EC is said to be best used in the summer, when its qualities as an excellent insect repellent can be fully appreciated.
