Used in Ancient Egypt for embalming, perfumery and cosmetics. An ingredient of 'mithridat' a poison antidote. The wood was often used for building as it was found, like the oil, to repel moths, ants and other insects. It was also used for broncial and urinary infections.
In aromatherapy used for acne, dandruff, dermatitis, eczema, fungal ifections, greasy skin, hair loss and ulcers. Also arthritis, rheumatism, bronchitis, catarrh, congestion, coughs, cystitis, leucorrhoea, pruritis, nervous tension and stress related conditions.
